What our customers say:

I wanted you to know that we are very happy with your service. I use my manual frequently and have always found the information needed. It is difficult to get accurate answers for personnel issues, so I was especially pleased to find your company. I have also contacted you a couple of times and everyone there has gone out of their way to take care of me. If only I’d found you years ago—it would have saved me a lot of stress. Keep up the good work!

Sharon Wood, Practice Administrator, Batavia, Ohio   [1/18/12]

Your e-newsletter sent out on December 22, 2011, included an article “Payroll Reminders & Changes For 2012” that was particularly helpful. I found this information valuable and very important to share with our employees. So I used your idea and created my own newsletter to use as a payroll stuffer. Working for a public sector I have limited funds/resources so I value my membership with Texas Personnel Advisor. Thank you for keeping me up to date with such valuable information.

Juanita Espino, Human Resource Director, Kendall County, Boerne, TX  [1/6/12]

I have many books in my office in regards to running a business and managing employees. However, the “number 1” book I refer to most often is my Texas Personnel Advisor. It has everything and then some to operate smoothly on a daily basis. Our company handbook is straight out of the Texas Personnel Advisor and it tackled everything we needed. I appreciate how comprehensive and easy the Advisor is, and it’s the one thing I will never be without. I have told many of my fellow business owners about this company and what they can do for them. The customer service is as great as the product. Thanks Texas Personnel Advisor for making my job easier!

Judy Woolf, Precision Hydraulic Technology, Inc, Odessa, TX   [1/4/12]

Within our company when we have a HR question the first place we go is The Personnel Advisor. Even if we know the answer, we do a double check to make sure. It is easy to use -- comprehensive of any situation we have come across -- and has been a great teaching tool for new office employees, supervisors and our HR department. As company controller, I have used it to keep our handbook up-to-date and to answer or get ideas on different situations that arise in the course of business. Recently I attended a seminar on HR and took the book along and showed it to many of the attendees at lunch break -- we used it to check on what we had discussed during the morning session.

Joan Stemmer, Controller, Brooklyn Heights, OH

I have appreciated the follow-up to ensure that we have received the latest Updates. The Ohio Personnel Advisor has become the "Bible" in our office when there is a HR issue that we need to solve. Coming recently from another state it has been a helpful tool to research Ohio regulations.

Lesley Murphy, CFO, Mansfield YMCA, Mansfield, Ohio   [12/29/11]

Our company has been a subscriber to the Personnel Advisor for several years now. We recently updated our policy manual and used the Personnel Advisor as a reference for many of our policies; it is an invaluable source of information, especially with the changes in the ADA and health care reform. I also use Personnel Advisor to ensure that all of our required postings are up to date and have ordered the laminated posters for several years for the four locations we need to post them. I really like the "Hot News" section and the monthly newsletters. I personally reference Personnel Advisor several times a week as does our HR department.

Belinda Sweeney, QA Manager, Warren, Ohio [11/4/11]

Deciding to subscribe to the Texas Personnel Advisor has been one of the best decisions I have made. It has been well worth the investment, saving our Center both time and money. I recently updated our policies and procedures and the Advisor's templates saved me weeks of time in research and writing. I also rely on the Advisor for up to date information on legal issues, which is helpful a smaller agency like ours! The emails and online services is just an added benefit. Thanks for your help.

Doak Givan, Executive Director, Family Services Center, Inc., Brownwood, Texas
 [11/3/11]

From a new subscriber in Pennsylvania:

I have already used the manual two times since I bought it yesterday. My payroll biller also loves it. She did not understand weighted averages, looked it up in the book, and there it was. The Personnel Advisor also has answered my questions on the status of the recent NLRB ruling. The website is very useful and user friendly and covers a lot. I feel I have a personal adviser at my fingertips.

Barbara Graver, President, Quality Personal Care, Inc, Lehighton, PA  [10/5/11]

I have subscribed to The Personnel Advisor for several years and have found that their manual, newsletter and regular updates keep me informed of what changes are happening in the industry on a very timely basis. It is so easy to look up a question in the manual or go online and research. Having both the laminated posters for sale at a very reasonable price and the option to print out the current posters based on the business size is extremely helpful! I recommend their products to all my HR and business friends.

Mary Jean George, Owner & Principal Consultant, HR-PRN, LLC, San Antonio, TX[10/4/11]

The Personnel Advisor is a great tool for my HR Department. We are a small company with less than 50 employees. The Personnel Advisor keeps us updated on the regulatory changes and the Reference Manual, or “Little Black Book” as I call it, is a convenient tool for a quick look up to questions that we have about such things as employment of a 17-year-old, overtime pay, in-service training pay, holiday pay, travel reimbursement, and more. I have been a subscriber to The Personnel Advisor for almost 10 years and it is well worth the money. I would recommend this for any HR Department.

Deborah Voiers-Akers, BA, NHA, CEO, Voiers Enterprises, Inc, McDermott, OH [9/28/11]

The Personnel Advisor has been an extremely helpful resource. Managing employee issues in a small business can be very sensitive and having The Personnel Advisor is a blessing. I have utilized their templates from the website on numerous occasions along with the New Hire Packet to insure all required documentation is handled correctly. Being a small business, we don't have a full time human resource department. So when I have any questions I open my Personnel Advisor binder and find all the answers I need!

Doug Galley, General Manager, Kasparian's Paint Center, Fresno, CA
 [8/15/11]

The Personnel Advisor is an outstanding service. It provides small business owners such as myself with the resources to effectively administer HR policies and to know when compliance may be an issue. Furthermore, the customer service team is outstanding. They make it very easy to keep up with the most current information. The day I signed on with The Personnel Advisor was a great day for my company.

Darren Rodia, President, Kinetic Physical Therapy, Chester Springs, PA  [6/20/11]

The PA Personnel Advisor is an excellent resource. It is the best HR tool that I have encountered in the 28 years that I have been in the HR business.

Victor Nardo, Human Resources Manager, Bridgeville, PA [6/16/11]

The Personnel Advisor is easy to read, well-written, and very user-friendly.

LeAnna Fox, Office Manager, Irving, Texas  [6/14/11]

I call the Texas Personnel Advisor my HR Bible as it is a great starting place when investigating an HR issue. Many times I find that the Texas Personnel Advisor provides the answer I am looking for, which is a great savings of time and energy. I highly recommend this reference as a must for any Human Resource library!

Carroll Menasco, MBA/HRM, PHR, Director of Human Resources, Austin, TX  [5/20/11]

I recently undated our employee handbook for our company. I found The Personnel Advisor's Employee Handbook Template to be exceptionally well written and very user-friendly. Having access to this comprehensive outline saves me a significant amount of time and energy.

Karen Futrell, HR Director, Barberton, Ohio    [4/14/11]

I was very skeptical when I was first contacted by phone from a member of your company.  I had endless questions that I posed to the sales rep, but he answered each one with knowledge and patience. I had always searched for a resource that would answer questions with the employer in mind. This is the one! I continue to find more and more ways to use the Personnel Advisor. From the website, I printed all our required posters, printed w4's, employee hire packages, and will soon finish our employee handbook. This is well worth the money!

Roberta Roberts, Co-owner, Roberts Agency, Arcanum, Ohio  [4/10/11]

Our HR Department has used The Personnel Advisor as our primary information source for 5 or more years. We do so because the beginners and the well-experienced can quickly and easily find the information necessary. The updates are timely and the forms are easily accessible on the internet. Thanks Personnel Advisor!

Corby Barrett, HR Manager, Perryton, Texas   [4/7/11]

We have used The Personnel Advisor for many years. It is a very useful tool. I especially love the email newsletter, which has recent changes and events that could be helpful to different people. The forms are awesome as well. We will be keeping our book and online subscription for years to come. Keep up the great work you guys!

Nancy Stewart, Office Manager, Round Rock, Texas
[4/1/11]

I am in the process of developing a new employee handbook for our company. I found The Personnel Advisor's Employee Handbook Template to be exceptionally well written and very user-friendly. Having access to this comprehensive outline saves me a significant amount of time and energy. And, the price was right!  Thanks to the Personnel Advisor for their contribution to our organization.

Thomas A. Thornton, President, Key Builders Construction Inc., Princeton, IL   [3/30/11]

The information provided in The Personnel Advisor is "one-stop shopping" at its finest! What a time-saver to not have to research a combination of other sources, especially to obtain information that is state-specific. Bravo Personnel Advisor!

Karen DaFonseca, Business Manager, Aurora, Ohio   [3/22/11]

With varied duties, including HR, in our agency I have spent a lot of time in the past researching "legalities." Fortunately, several years ago we subscribed to the Pennsylvania Personnel Advisor and will continue to renew. The PA Advisor is on my shelf, always available for current and timely reference. It has allowed me and our management team to provide correct information at the time of question, making the PA Advisor an invaluable and appreciated resource.

Gayle Padfield, Administrative Assistant, Olyphant, Pennsylvania   [3/14/11]

I just wanted to testify of my complete satisfaction with the Personnel Advisor. The Personnel Advisor keeps our office up to date with all the rules and regulations that are a required to run a business. It is the only reference manual we need and it is easy to access. I highly recommend it to anyone running a business, small or large.

Peggy Melick, Administrator, Santa Rosa, California   [2/24/2011]

I have been subscribing to the Texas Personnel Advisor since 2005 and have found it to be a very beneficial resource for our personnel department. I like having the ability to have access online as well as having my trusty reference book on the bookshelf.

Kathy Bancuch, Office & Human Resource Manager, Victoria, Texas  [1/26/2011]

I would like to say “thank you” for answering two questions about non-exempt salaried employees that have been keeping me up at night. Your customer service representative directed me to the exact pages in the manual and took me line by line through the material, helping me to understand what was right in front of me. Thank you from Texas!

Cathy McKenzie, Human Resource Department, Paradise, TX  [10/9/2009]

Many thanks your organization for the opportunity to review for free this impressive manual. As a previous business owner I would highly recommend this product. Having all this information at an arms reach is invaluable for today’s busy successful owner.

Andrew Justice, Camp Hill, PA  [6/25/09]

I have been in Human Resource and EHS for well over 20 years. I constantly look for a "tangible" manual that would support my efforts. Finally, I have found one in "The Personnel Advisor."  Skeptical at first, I used this little brown notebook and with updates it has become essential. I have renewed 2 times, and would recommend the service to anyone. Thanks!

Joe Nash, Operations Support Manager, Fralo Industries, Inc., Erie, PA [2/25/09]

I work for a small company and find your "California Personnel Advisor - Guide to Personnel Management" Reference Manual an enormously valuable tool.  It covers areas of legal obligations; payroll, employee relations, benefits and more!  The Manual saves us time and money since we do not have to contact the Company attorney or CPA for answers to everyday questions. Thank you!

Pat Henderson, Administrator, Young and Borlik Architects Inc., Palo Alto, CA [9/5/08]

I was pleased to find the Employee Handbook Template available and I downloaded it immediately. It was easy to fill in the blanks and to edit it to conform to our Company’s own policies. The Posters are also a great resource. Everything in one place makes it very convenient!

Jennifer Arnold, Controller, Rich Coast Coffee & Tea, Lewistown, PA [6/09/08]

Thanks to the Personnel Advisor for the Employee Handbook Template. This is something we have attempted to put together for a couple of years but being a small retail business with less than 10 employees it has been difficult.  Like some small businesses we tend to operate as a “family.”  But all families need some kind of structure and discipline and now we will have this once we tweak the handbook to our specifications.  Again, many thanks.

Lucille Bowen, Office Manager, Superior Carpet & Design Center, Los Angeles, CA [5/30/08]

Thank you so much for the information regarding damaged company equipment and wage deductions. I thought I looked everywhere but, as you pointed out, the answer to my question was in the manual. The Personnel Advisor is definitely worth our investment!!

Jackie Martinsen, Insurance Company, Carmel, CA [5/6/08]

We refer to your book constantly to make sure we are compliant and for any staff issues we may have. We appreciate your diligence in keeping us up to date, compliant and on track! We would never have the resources to do all of this research ourselves. We read every newsletter you put out and can feel confident that we are abreast of any changes we need to know about, thanks to your hard work. Thank you for being here for us!

Dee Hardy, Administrator, RE/MAX Realty Associates, Camp Hill, PA   [9/21/07]

Your reference manual saves me hours of searching for answers to HR questions that always pop up. The automatic updates also are a great way to keep on top of changes.

Helen Stevenson, HR Coordinator, Arlington, Texas  [9/11/07]

Our company has used the Personnel Advisor over the past few years. They do a great job with providing valuable information through their web-site and hands on manual. Their updates are great in helping us stay in compliance with the ever changing laws. It is an incredible resource for any HR Administrative office. I would like to thank the Personnel Advisor for doing such a great job!!

Pattie Sandoval, Benefit Coordinator, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, San Antonio, Texas  [8/21/07]

For my last three employers, I have requested the Personnel Advisor be one of the tools to be able to perform my job. This is a great reference tool for anyone in HR.

Penny Darst, HR Administrator, Roth Produce Company, Ohio   [7/13/07]

As a current subscriber to the Texas Personnel Advisor, I would like to know if you also publish books for Arkansas and Ohio. If so, is it possible to get some type of password to show my corporate office this book? I have a meeting with my corporate people on Feb 13-15, and I would love to show them the Ohio book and the laws for that state. I don't know if they would want it but I have to show them what I have!  In the Texas book, I have been able to answer 3 questions in the past two days and the best part is that I was able to give the federal and state answers. I love my book and the web site is great.... 24/7 365 at work, home or out of the U.S., I have all the information I need.

James McElhaney, Human Resources Manager, Bryan, Texas   [2/12/07]

I just wanted you to know how happy I am with The Personnel Advisor.  The information has helped me so many times. My boss is from another country so his understanding of U.S. law and California law is limited.  I regularly refer to your manual or use the online service to find answers to situations that may arise.  It is also especially nice not to have to order all those notices that are "required" to display.

I recently recommended The Personnel Advisor to a friend who had just been given an additional responsibility of Human Resources at her job.  She was getting frustrated just trying to figure out the laws, so I showed her my manual. She told her boss about it and he okayed the purchase!  She has thanked me many times.  I told her that I couldn't do my HR duties without it. Thank you for providing such an informative tool, and keep up the good work.

Barbara Wishard, Controller, Ventura, CA   [10/6/06]

The Personnel Advisor is a practical and valuable research tool that I have been using for several years now.  I work for a company with several U.S. locations thus, I use both the Manual and the Online advisor depending upon where I am.  It has kept me abreast with compensation rates, trends & innovations in benefits with market rates for benchmark jobs, and up-to-date with state and federal regulations and compliance.  I recommend it to HR Managers who are conscientious about their own efficiency and productivity.

Penny Umali, Human Resources Manager, Swiss Steel International, N.A., Carol Stream, Illinois   [06/21/06]

I enjoy being a subscriber to your wonderful personnel advisor service!

Louise Quine, Grapevine, Texas   [12/20/05]

Dear Personal Advisor: I am a small business owner. I subscribed to The Personal Advisor about 1 year ago. Since I subscribed, I have used both the manual that you sent me and your web site. I have found everything very user friendly and also very valuable tools. I received scare type information about notices that I am required to have posted. The tools that you provide me help me to sort though these scare notices and keeps me from spending money that I don't need to spend. I have read your manual more than once and find things that help me re-write my employee handbook or my company policies and procedures. You provide much needed tools to small businesses. A small business owner has to be a little bit of everything in order to survive and your organization has given me tools to help me be more knowledgeable in more areas. Thank you for understanding the need and providing the services that you do. I feel confident that you will continue to find ways to help small business owners.

Stephen G. Sandberg, President, Terre Formé Enterprises, Inc., Warren, Ohio  [12/13/04]

Your web site is very helpful in keeping small business up to date with current law changes. You make it very easy for anyone to become informed.

Loretta Fernandez, Human Resource Administrator, Sacramento, California  [12/10/04]

Great Website. The Posters section is really helpful. The required posters are all right there.  No guess work!

Angie Epperly, Business Manager, San Antonio, Texas  [10/27/04]

I just wanted to thank the Personnel Advisor for putting together such an informative tool. During the course of this year it has been an invaluable tool. We were also able, thanks to the guidelines, to develop a handbook for employees. The updates keep you in compliance with the fast changing laws. This has been one purchase that has been well worth the money. I would encourage the purchase of this product--it is great!

Nancy Wagner, Office Manager, Bakersfield, California [10/13/04]

I think the Hot News page and the Forms page are extremely beneficial. I also appreciate how you send the updates in such a timely manner... and the detail is extraordinary on the regulations for California.  I have used other services before, but it was not until I used your service that I discovered what you provide is way beyond what other HR services could even begin to provide...

Sharon Manuse, Human Resource Administrator, Manteca, California [5/26/04]

You have a great website – very helpful to this HR Administration.  I use your desk reference and website all the time and am forever thankful...[it was] passed it on to me when I was hired.

Phyllis Skubic, Human Resource Administrator, Joliet, Illinois [1/7/04]

Thank you so much for your manual. It provides an outstanding amount of valuable information to small businesses..

Janice Dischner, Administrative Assistant, Santa Ana, California [6/19/03]

Dear Personnel Advisor:

I am an independent contractor/consultant, primarily focusing on compliance issues in human resources, safety/risk management, contracting and procurement.  My typical role is to advise and write a variety of policies, procedures and plans to ensure compliance.  The public agency I contract with has a subscription to The Personnel Advisor.  The Executive Assistant asked me to take a look at it and tell her what I thought.

I have been reading your publication for the past two hours.  Frankly, I am finding it difficult to put down.  It is very comprehensive and such an incredible resource.  The instructions and resources you provide are realistic and it is an excellent find.  Unfortunately, I've spent countless hours researching many of the issues you already have in your book.  I contacted your office to inquire if you have a Personnel Advisor for Oregon and Washington.  Unfortunately, not at the present time.  Too bad, as I will have to re-invent the wheel and essentially research many of the items you discuss in your California Personnel Advisor for Oregon.  Do you anticipate creating a book for Oregon and Washington?  The Personnel Advisor staff should be applauded for producing such a valuable resource that is incredibly simple and straightforward to use.  Here's to a job well done.   Please advise on the cost of a subscription.  Thank you!

Judy Lopez, HR Compliance Consultant, Rohnert Park, CA  [8/29/02]
