Employment Opportunity is the Law(revised 11/09)
Consolidated EEO poster—Every employer covered by the
non-discrimination and EEO laws is required to post on
its premises the poster, "Equal Employment Opportunity
is the Law." The notice must be posted prominently,
where it can be readily seen by employees and
applicants for employment.
In
October 2009, the EEOC released a new version of the
EEO poster (dated 11/09) and a supplement poster that
employers also may use (to
post alongside older versions of the EEO poster). The
new poster reflects current federal employment
discrimination law and information about the
Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008,
which is effective November 21, 2009.
Employers may print either
the new "Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law"
notice (two 11 X 8.5 pages)
and post it in the workplace - or - print the
supplement notice (one 8.5 X 11
page) and post it alongside EEOC’s September
2002 “EEO is the Law” poster or OFCCP’s August 2008
“EEO is the Law” poster. (new
versions currently available only in English)
